Safety on Construction Sites (SMSTS & IOSH Managing Safely)

Think of the IOSH Managing Safely course, this course delivers an essential risk management and health and safety understanding, with practical considerations that you would recognise how to put into practice on-the-job. Great for managers and supervisors to be able to manage the safety of themselves and their teams. IOSH is one of the worlds largest health and safety organisations. It’s great for group bookings if you’re investing in ensuring your firm stays up to date with the best practices and know-how to manage the very real dangers that arise consistently on a construction site daily.
There is also the SMSTS (Site Managers Safety Training Scheme) course. This in-depth course is designed to serve those with the responsibilities in planning, organising, monitoring and coordinating members of staff, for example as a Site Manager would. The legislation is covered as well as risk assessment, controlling hazards and adequate communication to ensure the best chances of a safe environment throughout construction projects. Your firm and your clients can depend on this training, as it’s industry-standard and the backbone of the UK’s first class approach to working safely.
CSCS Card and Tests
To apply for most CSCS cards you have to pass a health and safety test, and demonstrate your competence.
CSCS Testing is offered at our Omagh site. A new 24-hour booking system has been put in place, however all tests must be pre-booked at least 48 hours in advance for administration purposes. No tests will be launched on the system without pre-booking*.
The computer-based tests can be completed quickly with flexible test times available - including evening and weekend slots. Foreign Language voice overs are available and assistance can be provided to candidates who have learning difficulties.

Over the past three years, GH Skills have excelled foremost in developing a long term working relationship with Andras House. In this time, they have delivered several NVQ courses at levels two and three, enabling many of our staff to avail of subsidised and cost-effective work-based courses.
