Global Horizon Skills is running two courses this summer – our popular SIA Door Supervisors training course in 2 of our Training Venues! You can book them online but why not learn a little bit more about why these licenses could be just what you need to take your work in a new direction or simply improve your skills in your current role?

If you want to work as a bouncer at an event or the entrance to a business requiring door-level security to safeguard its activities then you’ll need licensing from the Security Industry Authority (The SIA). This requires four days of training modules with Global Horizon Skills before sitting exams to obtain the license. As you can imagine, this covers all of the essentials like conflict management and physical intervention skills.

You’ll need to be 18 or over, pass an identity check, criminal record check and have your qualification from us to apply for the license from the SIA. This license is required for many of the posted security jobs in Northern Ireland today on Indeed.com and widely recognised across the UK as being an essential skills of any applicant. This ensures best practice and legal adherence for both you, your employer and the public. Find out more about the legal requirements on the government’s website here.

If you’ve done work as a bouncer or security guard and have held an SIA Door Supervisor licence you can have it renewed by training with us. But have you considered taking on additional security training to further your career?
